Willis D. Cathman, age 82, of Lancaster, passed away at Orchard Manor Nursing Home on Sunday, April 7, 2013. He was born on December 9, 1930, on a farm near Bagley, the son of Willie and Birdie (Bohringer) Cathman. Willis was an avid collector of farm antiques. He also enjoyed buying, selling and repairing old farm machinery. Willis farmed near Bagley for several years and also did custom bailing. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Prairie du Chien and was a man strong in his faith.
Survivors include his brother, Herman Cathman, Lancaster; two sisters: Rozella (Russell) Kramer, Blue Grass, IA; Madonna (Bill) Rieckens, Bellevue, IA; two sisters-in-law: Betty Cathman, Fennimore; Darlene Cathman, Lancaster; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Willis was preceded in death by a sister, Retha (Christian) Schnitzler and brothers: Louis (Thelma), Bernard, Burdette, Herbert Lyle (Violet) and Berlyn.
Funeral services were on Friday April 12, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Prairie du Chien with Pastor Joe Irvin officiating. Burial was in Blakes Prairie Cemetery, Bloomington Township. Family and friends called on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. Martin Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Bloomington is serving the family.
