William M. Thornton

 William M. Thornton, age 33 of Bagley, passed away with his family by his side on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. He was born March 3, 1979 in Cuba City, son of Jeff and Barb (Wagner) Thornton. Bill graduated River Ridge High School in 1997, and furthered his education at Southwest Technical College in Fennimore with a degree in engine machining. He was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Bloomington, and married Kerry L. Coates there, on October 18, 2003. Bill dearly loved spending time with his family, and life on the farm.

Surviving is his beloved wife, Kerry; his loving children, Madelyn, Elliott, Eden and Maggie; His parents Jeff (Barb) Thornton; brothers, Brian (Tina) and Ethan (Jessica Foreman) Thornton; mother and father in law, David (Linda) Coates; brother in laws, Jesse (Jennifer) and Shaun (Katie) Coates; grandmothers Anne Wagner and Irene Coates; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services were held on Friday, August 24, 2012 at 10:30 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 535 Congress Street, in Bloomington with Fr. John Meinholz officiating. Burial was in the Blake's Prairie Cemetery. In keeping with Bill's wishes, there was no visitation. In lieu of plants, flowers and other forms of tribute, a William M. Thornton memorial fund has been established, with proceeds to be used for his children's future.
