Warren Pfaff, age 65, of Platteville, lost a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, April 21, 2015. He was born in North Lancaster Township on March 9, 1950, the son of Henry and Ruth (Cook) Pfaff. Warren grew up in North Lancaster and Seneca, and graduated from Seneca High School. He served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1970 as an E-4.
Warren was united in marriage to Viola Breuer on July 24, 1971. They lived for a time in Seneca, Cassville, Lancaster and Cobb. He worked for Lancaster FS and Cobb Canning Factory.
Warren later completed Maintenance Mechanic Apprenticeship certification from Moraine Park Technical Institute, Fond du Lac, and earned an Associate Degree in Electronic Telecommunications from WI Indianhead Technical Institute, Rice Lake. This led to an over twenty year career in telecommunications in Maryland, Marietta/Atlanta, GA and Roanoke, VA. He returned to Lancaster in 2010, then lived in Platteville since May 2014. Warren was very proud of his children and grandchildren and was looking forward to the upcoming birth of his first great-grandchild.
Warren is survived by three children and their families: Ryan (Dace Saule) Pfaff, and their children, Magnus and Arija, all of Dubuque, IA; Melissa Pfaff, Dubuque, IA and her children, Derrick (Jamison) Pfaff, Hawaii, and Eric Stanton, Cuba City; Wylie (Angela) Pfaff, their children, Isla and Cora, all of Platteville; his children's mother, Viola (Mark Reger) Pfaff, Prairie du Chien; his siblings: Charlene Ingebritsen, Platteville; Marita Hale, Lancaster; Loren (Kathyrn) Pfaff, Evansville; Darvin (Ginger) Pfaff, Coloma; Galen Pfaff, Gays Mills; Lorissa (Darlene House) Pfaff, Tampa, FL; Terry (Christine) Pfaff, Ellicott City, MD; sister-in-law, Alberta Pfaff, Sacramento, CA; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Warren was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Pfaff and Ruth Pfaff Bailey and a brother, LeRoy.
A Celebration of Life with military honors was held on Friday, May 1, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster with Pastor Mark Hoehne officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Family and friends called on Thursday, April 30, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lancaster and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
