Warren L. Myers, age 89, of Beetown, died on Monday, September 12, 2011, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, Lancaster. He was born on April 19, 1922, in Beetown Township, the son of Warren and Elsie (Wright) Myers. Warren graduated from Bloomington High School. On December 12, 1945, he was united in marriage to Marjorie Millin. After their marriage, Warren farmed in Beetown Township. He was later employed with the ASCS, retiring in the 1980s. Warren was a talented musician and was a member of the Del Brown Band playing the trombone. He enjoyed shooting, hunting, fishing, boating, flying an airplane, which he flew solo at age sixteen, and collecting guns.
Survivors include his children: David Myers, Laura (David) Damm, and Lynn (Debra) Myers; six grandsons: Warren C. (Shona) Myers, James, and Robert Myers, Jason (Kerri) Damm, Matthew and Nathan Myers; three great-grandchildren: Brandon Myers, Ellie and Alyssa Damm; other relatives and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Warren was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters: Russell, Howard, Maude Kempthorne, and Monona Bartels.
Private family graveside services were held on Thursday, September 15, 2011, at Dodge Cemetery, Beetown Township, with Reverend Pamela Strakeljahn officiating. Family and Friends were invited to the Beetown Hall in Beetown on Thursday, September 15, 2011, at 1:30 p.m. Martin Funeral Home in Bloomington is assisting the family.
