Walter P. Bausch

Walter P. Bausch, age 78, of Cassville, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2010, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, Lancaster. He was born on October 16, 1931, in Cassville, the son of Tony and Cecelia (Adrian) Bausch. Walter served in the United States Army from 1953 until 1954 and was stationed in Baltimore, MD. On June 2, 1955, he was united in marriage to Leila M. Mumm. Walter worked at Dairyland Power in Cassville until his retirement. He enjoyed playing Euchre and 500 with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Leila Bausch, Cassville; his children: Mike (Reka) Bausch, Platteville; Tim (Shelby) Bausch, Potosi; Doreen Hegy, LaCrescent, MN; Sue (Bob Johnson), Holmen; Ron (Sue) Bausch, Dodgeville; Ken (Dawn) Bausch, Oregon; Dan Bausch, Potosi; and Lisa (Mike Melzer) Menomonee Falls; his grandchildren: Tabetha (Jim Little), Jen (Brad Schroeder), Tony (Emily Mahan), Brian, Shelby, Samantha, Rylie, Angie, Kira, and Kaci; great-grandsons, Mason and Colten; his sisters and brother, Marge Kirschbaum, Lancaster; Irene Wood, Cassville and William (Mary Sue) Bausch, Cassville.

In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by a sister, Florence Reed and a brother, Robert Bausch.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, August 26, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville with Father John Meinholz officiating. Burial with military honors was in St. Marys Settlement Cemetery, Cassville. Family and friends called on Wednesday, August 25, 2010, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Cassville. A scripture service was held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday and friends may also call on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
