Walter C. Roesch, age 86, of Platteville, formerly of Potosi, died Saturday, January 28, 2012, at Grays Nursing Home in Platteville. Walter was born on August 9, 1925, in Potosi, the son of Clyde and Julia (Keehner) Roesch.
After graduation from Potosi High School, Walter attended Bayless Business College in Dubuque, IA. During World War II, Walter served in the U.S. Army. He worked as an administrative assistant at the Potosi Brewery. Walter later worked at the Civil Defense Office in Lancaster until his retirement. He was a member of the Davies Memorial United Church of Christ, where he played the organ for over 40 years.
Walter is survived by several cousins, and other loving relatives & friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Julia.
Funeral Services were held at 11 am on Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at the Davies Memorial United Church of Christ in Potosi, with Pastor Petra Streiff officiating. Burial with Military Honors was in British Hollow Cemetery, Potosi Township. Visitation was from 9 am to 11 am Tuesday at the church. Martin Funeral Home in Potosi is handling arrangements.
In lieu of plants and flowers, a Walter C. Roesch Memorial Fund has been established.
