Wade R. Carns

Wade R. Carns, age 56, of Prairie du Chien, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 28, 2012, after a short illness. Wade was born on February 2, 1956, in Lancaster, a son of David and Jean (Salis) Carns.

Wade grew up in Boy Scouts where his dad was a leader. He excelled in school and starred in many plays and chorus activities. Wade also was a member of the Potosi track team. He graduated from Potosi High School in 1974. He pursued a music degree which he applied in giving music lessons to many.

Mostly, Wade lived to play music. His whole life revolved around it. People were amazed by his bass skills and many other instruments. He supported many bands along his journey.

Wade spent many years living in Portland, Oregon. He worked for Owens/Corning there. Three and a half years ago, he moved to Potosi to be closer to his family.

Wade was employed at Blue Note Music Store in Platteville, where he also gave lessons.

He will be sadly missed by those who loved him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Bowie Rae Carns of Portland, OR; his parents, David and Jean Carns of Potosi; a sister, Deb Carns of Potosi; two brothers, Terry (Carrie) Carns of Excelsior, MN and Gerry (Molly) Carns of Platteville; his girlfriend, Kathy Stickfort of Prairie du Chien; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving friends and relatives.

Funeral Services were held at 11 am on Friday, January 4, 2012 at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home, 100 Park Place, Platteville. Burial will be held at a later date. Friends called from 9 am until the start of services Friday at the funeral home.
