Violet G. Wackershauser, age 87, of Prairie du chien passed away Monday, November 26, 2018 at Prairie Maison in Prairie du Chien. She was born January 10, 1931 the daughter of George and Mamie Lewig. She attended school in the Wauzeka area and was a lifelong homemaker. Violet was married to Loren Koecke on September 13, 1969 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Following Loren’s death in 2002, she married Virgil Wackershauser. Violet was an artist at heart and enjoyed quilting and gardening in her free time, and she loved to dance.
Violet is survived by various members of her extended family and by many friends.
In addition to her parents, Violet was preceded in death by her husbands: Loren Koecke and Virgil Wackershauser.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 3, 2018 at the United Methodist Church in Prairie du Chien with Rev. Barbara Cook officiating. Private burial will be in the Bagley Cemetery at a later date. Family and friends may call on Monday, December 3, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice of Prairie du Chien. The Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory of Bloomington is entrusted with her services.
