Vernon J. Krantz, age 78, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at Southwest Health Center in Platteville. He was born November 13, 1937 the son of Lloyd and Leatha (Johll) Krantz. Vernon graduated from Bloomington High School In 1955. He was united into marriage to Lois C. Walz on November 5, 1959 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Glen Haven. Vernon was employed at the Bloomington Feed Mill, and later he and Lois moved to Beetown and managed the General Store. They moved to Lancaster, and Vernon was employed as a cheese maker at Wisconsin Dairies until his retirement in 1992. He enjoyed wood working and rug weaving. He dearly loved his wife Lois, and their family.
Surviving is his loving wife Lois; a daughter, Marge (Bill) Gantenbein, five sons, Paul (Joan), Roger (Nancy), Bill (Deb), Mike, and Patrick Krantz; a daughter in law, Mikey (Todd) Clanton, 18 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren, his sister Virginia Walz and a brother Fred Krantz, many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Vernon was preceded in death by his son Gary, a grandson Matthew, a granddaughter Sandra, and many members of the Krantz and Walz family.
Funeral services were held on Friday, April 1, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster, with Rev. John Sasse officiating. Burial was in St. Clement Cemetery. Family and friends called on Friday, April 1, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. The Schwartz Funeral Home and Cremation service is assisting the family.
