Thomas S. Paulus

PLATTEVILLE – Thomas S. Paulus, age 64, of Platteville, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at his home.  He was born on September 12, 1959, in Elgin, IL, the son of Robert and JoAnn (Markovich) Paulus.  Thomas was a member of the Cub and Boy Scouts and graduated from Larkin High School with the class of 1977.  He furthered his education at the University of Wisconsin at Platteville and graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice.  It was there Thomas met his lifelong friend, Sherry Beyer.  He joined the ROTC while in college and served as a Sergeant with the 2E 4^th Calvary of the United States Army.  Thomas was employed at Southwest Wisconsin Technical College in Fennimore in their IT department.  He enjoyed fly fishing, trapshooting and was a member of the Southwest Wisconsin Sportsman’s Club in Potosi. 

Survivors include his two sons: AJ (Theresa) and Tristan (Kelsey Howard); three grandchildren: Rhonin, Nolan, and Kayden; a brother, Douglas Paulus; lifelong friend, Sherry Paulus; other relatives and friends.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents.

In keeping with Thomas’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral services.  Family and friends may call on Friday, January 12, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Platteville.  In lieu of plants and flowers, the family requests a donation made to the charity of your choice in memory of Thomas S. Paulus.
