Thomas Roy Jenson, age 87, formerly of Platteville, died peacefully on December 8, 2014, at Our House Memory Care Assisted Living in Whitewater, due to a long battle with Alzheimers. Thomas was the son of Thomas Sr. and Hazel (Chritton) Jenson, born November 27, 1927, at their rock home in Willow Springs Township of Lafayette County. He graduated from Belmont High School. On September 26, 1953, he married Bernice Frontz at the Peace Lutheran Church in Belmont. They farmed in the Town of Kendall until retiring and moving to Platteville in 1988. They enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the United States. Thomas was a 4-H leader of the First Capitol 4-H club and a member of the Pecatonica River Valley Coon Hunters Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, playing cards, and putting puzzles together.
Survivors include his daughter, Karen (George) Troupis of Lake Geneva; son, Todd (Ramona) Jenson of Monroe; daughter-in-law, Peggy Jenson of Footville; five grandsons, Alex, Nicholas and Andrew Troupis and Thomas and Mark Jenson; sisters-in-law, Naomi Jenson of Shullsburg and Mary June Frontz and Helen Frontz of Belmont; brother-in-law, Harvey (Carol) Frontz of Belmont, plus several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bernice; a son, Donald Jenson; brother, Lewis Jenson; sister, Helen (Hollis) Garthwaite; brothers-in law, Gerald Frontz, Russell Frontz; and sister-in-law, Margaret (Ken) Slater.
Funeral services were Saturday, December 13, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at the Martin Schwartz Funeral Home in Platteville, with Pastor Jeffrey Pedersen of the Lutheran Church of Peace officiating. Burial was in the Belmont Cemetery, Belmont. Family and friends called on Saturday from 12:00 noon until time of services at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established in his name.
