Thomas J. Tom Hoesly, age 59, of Lancaster, died on Friday, March 13, 2009, at Grant Regional Health Center, Lancaster. He was born on September 8, 1949, in Monroe, the son of Sheldon and Marjorie (Bloom) Hoesly. Tom graduated from New Glarus High School and attended the UW Farm and Industry Short Course in Madison. On November 28, 1975, he was united in marriage to Vicki Swanson in New Glarus. The couple have been residents of Grant County for over twenty years. Tom was a dairy farmer and did custom fencing. He enjoyed showing cattle and loved spending time with his family and friends. Tom was a 4-H leader and volunteered for many agricultural projects throughout the farming community.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Vicki of Lancaster; his children: Seth (Carrie) Hoesly, Berlin; Jessica (Mike) McConnell, Lancaster; two grandchildren: Katrina and Jonathan Hoesly, Berlin; his brother, Bill Hoesly, Belleville; and his sister, Shelly (Duane) Yager, New Glarus and their son, Alex.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster with Pastor Mark Hoehne officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Friends called on Monday, March 16, 2009, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster. Friends also called on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
