Thomas G. Raveling

CASSVILLE, WISCONSIN – Thomas G. Raveling, age 74, of Cassville, passed away on Friday, December 7, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque, Iowa. He was born on July 20, 1944, in Sioux Rapids, Iowa, the son of Thomas and Ellen (Grange) Raveling. Thomas graduated from Sioux Valley High School in 1962. He furthered his education at Northwestern College in Orange City for two years. Thomas was employed with General Motors Corporation and worked in the auto industry for his entire life. On June 27, 1984, Thomas was united in marriage to Sandra in Bettendorf, Iowa. After their marriage, the couple moved to Phoenix and resided there for 23 years. In 2013, they retired and relocated to Cassville, Wisconsin. Thomas's hobbies included tinkering and cars. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Iowa Hawkeyes. Thomas and Sandra also enjoyed sitting at the Mississippi River and watching nature.
Survivors include his loving wife, Sandra; his children: Anthony (Erin) Raveling; Katherine Raveling; stepchildren: Andrea (Mike Hassforth) Cliff; Dennis (Jen) Cliff; one grandson, Hudson Raveling; 5 step-grandchildren; his siblings: David (Barb) Raveling and Rita (Norm) Riis; other relatives and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Raveling and a sister, Joyce Raveling.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at River Valley Community Church, 400 Denniston St., Cassville, with Pastor Don Zahurance officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Spencer, Iowa, next to his son, Thomas. Family and friends may call on Friday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Cassville is entrusted with his care.
