Thomas J. Adams

Thomas J. Adams, age 71, of Platteville, died on Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at his residence in Platteville. He was born on November 9, 1939, in Lancaster, the son of Frank and Elizabeth (Riniker) Adams. He attended school at St. Clement Catholic School in Lancaster . On June 2, 1959, Thomas was united in marriage to Ruth VanNatta at St. Marys Catholic Church in Platteville. Thomas was employed with John Deere for many years, retiring in 1990. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and playing cards.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Adams, Platteville; sons: Terry Adams, Adams Friendship, WI; Kevin Adams, Platteville; Rick (Teresa) Adams, Cuba City; Scott (Krista) Adams, Poynette; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; his brother and sisters: Richard (Janis) Adams, Dickeyville; Delores (Leonard) Hosch, Monticello, IA; Rosemary Morris, Stockton, IL; and Cecelia (Charles) Breihan, Lancaster.

In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters: Bob Adams, Mark Adams, Francis Adams, Marion Reeg, Virginia Wall, Marjorie Hoffman, and Kathleen Adams.

Funeral services were held on Monday, February 28, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home in Platteville with Father Lope Pascual officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery , Platteville. Family and friends called on Monday, February 28, 2011, from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
