With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Tara Mumm Hollander, our loving daughter, mother, sister and friend, to all whose lives she touched, on Saturday, July 11, 2020.
Tara was born on October 8th, 1977, to Dick and Cheryl (Kluesner) Mumm. She graduated as salutatorian from River Ridge High School in 1996, where she excelled in track, volleyball, choir, and forensics. Tara worked various jobs but may be remembered best as the #1 babysitter and mother's helper for countless families and children in the Bloomington area. She graduated from UW-La Crosse in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sports Science. After college, Tara landed her dream job at Taylor Fitness in Galena where she forged many friendships and helped numerous people reach their health and fitness goals.
The lights of Tara's life were her three children, Sadie, Sam and Sawyer. Tara was a caring and loving mother, who always put her kids' needs above her own. She was so very proud of her children. She wanted nothing more than for them to have a wonderful life.
Tara brought joy to so many people's lives. It did not matter who you were or what you did, Tara always made everyone feel welcome. Since Tara's death, many have written about how special she was and how fortunate they were to have known her. Most of all, they recall the sheer pleasure of her company, her beautiful smile, how good she made them feel, how free they were to be themselves around her, and how much they will miss her.
She will continue to stay with us all through memories, and the laughs she forced us to endure, whether we were in the mood or not. We will see her everywhere: disco balls, Golden Girls reruns, jazzercise, big hair and industrial strength hairspray, sweatshirts from the 80s, and anytime you hear Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive."
Tara will be missed every day by her three beautiful children: Sadie, Sam, and Sawyer Hollander, her parents Tim & Cheryl Spaeth, sister Casey (Tom) Dubinski, brother Charlie (Kelli) Spaeth, significant other Travis Vogt, grandmother Patricia Spaeth, her loving aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, co-workers, and many, many great friends.
Tara was preceded in death by her father, Richard Mumm, maternal grandparents Robert and Judy Kluesner, and paternal grandparents Carl and Delores Mumm and Anthony Spaeth.
When you think of Tara, celebrate the good memories you have of her. Remember that life is fragile and short and should be lived to the fullest.
Rest in peace Tara, you will be so missed.
