Susan E. Doll

Susan E. Doll, age 74, passed away unexpectedly from natural causes at her home on Monday, January 31, 2022. She was born on March 31, 1947, in Beetown, WI, the daughter of Clarence and Lucille (Bryhan) Doll. Susan graduated from Lancaster High School in 1965. She furthered her education in Seattle, WA, where she earned her master's degree in social work. Susan was a caring and compassionate woman whose career spanned over 50 years as a social worker and mental health counselor. She worked in Seattle, WA, Minneapolis, MN, Grant County, WI, Richland County, WI, Dubuque County, IA, and most recently, Decorah, IA. Susan enjoyed antiquing and thrift store shopping.
Survivors include her son, Lakota Standing Bear, Caledonia, MN; a sister, Bonnie Doll Ewton, Ft. Collins, CO; her boyfriend, Lawrence Battles, Minneapolis, MN; nieces: Apryl Bennett, Lancaster; Angi (Perry) Anderson, Scottsdale, AZ; Kevyn (Kenneth) Webb, Logan, UT; nephews: Regan Ewton, Ft. Collins, CO; Lane (Kea) Ewton, Denver CO; other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by her former husband, Jerry Bear Standing Bear; brother-in-law, Guy Ewton.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Lancaster Congregational United Church of Christ in Lancaster. Funeral services will be held following the visitation at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Mark Dieter officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster is serving the family.
