Steven J. Adams

Steven J. Adams, age 51, of Cassville, passed away onTuesday, March 12, 2013, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on January 9, 1962, in Dubuque, IA, the son of Gary and Sandra (Brinkman) Adams. Steven graduated from Cassville High School in 1980. He was a lifelong dairy farmer in the Beetown area. On September 18, 1999, he was united in marriage to Arlene (Lange) Goke at Platteville. Steven was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, the Cassville School Board and was the FFA Alumni Treasurer for several years. He was also an avid Green Bay Packer fan and liked to watch Cassville high school sports. Steven enjoyed his life on the farm and was very proud of his Quality Milk Awards and accomplishments in dairy farming.

Survivors include his loving wife, Arlene Adams, Cassville; his son, John (fianc Kristen Beesecker) Adams, Beetown; his granddaughter and the apple of his eye, Malorie May Adams; three step-sons: Randy (Sara Sandford) Goke, Reynoldsburg, OH; and their son, Hunter; Kelsey Goke, Viroqua; Tyler Goke, Lewisville, TX: his parents, Gary and Sandra Adams, Cassville; his siblings: Tim (Amy) Adams, Cassville; Dave (Darla) Adams, Lancaster; Gina (Duane) Kartman and Donald (Angela) Adams, all of Cassville; his brothers and sisters-in-law: Doris Doherty, Onalaska; Jane Lange, Scottsdale, AZ; Dan (Judy) Lange, Appleton; David (Ann) Lange Presque Isle, MI; nieces and nephews: Brooke, Kierstin, Anna, Olivia, Iris, Brian, Caleb, Cole, Ty, Eli, Isaac, and one on the way; other relatives and many friends.

Steven was preceded in death by his grandparents: John and Esther (Pitzen) Adams and Pete and Eileen (Adrian) Brinkman.

Funeral services were held on Friday, March 15, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville with Father John Meinholz as the celebrant and Father William Seipp concelebrating. Burial was in Beetown Cemetery, Beetown. Family and friends called on Thursday, March 14, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church where a 4:30 p.m. scripture service will be held. Friends also called on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. Martin Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Cassville is serving the family.
