 Steven A. Wentz, age 46, of Fennimore, died on  Friday, December 21, 2012, at Grant Regional Hospital in Lancaster. He was born on December 31, 1965, in Lancaster, the son of Edward and Carol (Shaben) Wentz. Steven graduated from Lancaster High School. Following his graduation, he resided at Larry Smiths home in Fennimore while being employed at the Opportunity Center in Prairie du Chien. He later resided at Spargroves Group Home, Cornerstone in Livingston and most recently, Cornerstone in Fennimore. Steven was employed at Southwest Opportunity Center in Lancaster, where he enjoyed shredding paper and collecting pop tabs.

Steven enjoyed bowling, word searches, puzzles, fishing, and playing cards. He loved attending all of the family get-togethers. Steven was also an avid Green Bay Packer fan. He was full of life and had a sense of adventure. Steven was able to give the gift of life by being an organ donor. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his mother, Carol Wentz, Lancaster; his father, Edward (Lynda) Wentz, Cassville; his siblings: Nancy (Rusty) Fuls, St. Petersburg, FL; Rodney Wentz, Lancaster; Ken (Renae) Wentz, Platteville; Brenda (Tim Doucette) Wentz, Lancaster; Alvin (Kari Thomford) Wentz, Waukon, IA; Albert (Stacey) Wentz, Davenport, IA; maternal grandmother, Mary Shaben, Florida; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Steven was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Alvin and Leona Wentz and his maternal grandfather, Orvie Shaben.

Funeral services were held on Friday, December 28, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Lancaster with Pastor David Froemming officiating. Burial was in Beetown Cemetery, Beetown. Family and friends called on Thursday, December 27, 2012, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
