Stanley "Buck" Jerrett

Stanley Buck Jerrett, age 91, of Lancaster, passed away with his family by his side on Friday, October 21, 2011. He was born on July 20, 1920, the son of Earl Sr. and Bertha (Dival) Jerrett. He attended Dyer School. Stanley served in  Korea for one year. It was love at first sight when Stanley met his future wife Lila (Austin) at the Roller-skating Rink in Lancaster. They later were married in  Platteville on December 24, 1945. Together they have been on the home farm for sixty-five years. He also worked for Briels of Fennimore, Finney and Wehrenberg of Lancaster and then retired after seventeen years with the Lancaster School District. Stanley served faithfully for over fifty years at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses. He enjoyed farming with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Stanley had a great sense of humor that was enjoyed by everyone around him.

Surviving is his wife, Lila, three sons: Wayne (Pat) Jerrett, Roger (fianc Cheri Klaas) Jerrett, and Randy (Sharon) Jerrett; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; sister, Arlene Wieland; two sisters-in-law, Lorretta Muir and Janice Austin; many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Mark; a daughter, Julie; and his brothers, Donald and Earl Jr. (Edna) Jerrett.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses in Fennimore with Larry McDaniel officiating. Private family burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends called on Monday, October 24, 2011, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster.
