Stacy Joy Walker, age 42, formerly from Cassville, WI, died Monday, June 20, 2016, from complications after surgery. Daughter of Thomas C. Walker (deceased) and Roberta P. Walker, sister to Thomas C. Walker, Jr, Daniel D. Walker (Holly) and Philip J. Walker.
Born and raised in Cassville, WI, she attended the Cassville Elementary Grade School, Cassville High School Class of 1992, University of Wisconsin - Whitewater, and Minnesota State University - Mankato, MN, majoring in Special Ed and Theatre Arts.
High School activities included sports (volley ball), Chorus and Band (flute), 7th and 8th Grade plays and numerous High School musicals. She was the first student in the school to participate all four years in the Forensics Speech program, earning one silver and three gold awards at the State Finals.
She moved to St. Louis after college and began her career with the Special School District of St. Louis County, and worked at the Ross Elementary and Northeast Middle Schools. She was very active with the Middle School plays, Show Choir and musicals as the Technical Director, and chaperoned many trips to Disney World and 6 Flags Over Mid America. She also volunteered with the Special Olympics events, and local marathons. She nannyed for numerous St Louis families, and also did Tot Care at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church for many, many years.
Some of her favorite activities included returning to Cassville to help out with the High School musicals, attending any and all theatre productions, spoiling her godson Logan Walker, spending 4th of July weekends at the cabin in Wisconsin, and wearing her flip-fops, even in the winter! As a transplant to St Louis, she became an avid Cardinals fan, but always remained true to her Green Bay Packers roots!
She was preceded in death by her father Thomas C. Walker, her maternal grandparents Margaret and DeLoy Petersen, and her paternal grandparents Lois and Chris Walker. She is survived by her mother, Roberta, her brothers Tommy, Dan and Philip, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
