Sheila A. Buss

Sheila A. Buss, age 70, of Prairie du Chien, formerly of Lancaster, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2020, at her home. She was born on July 21, 1949 in Lancaster, the daughter of Mark and Dorothy (Irish) Schwantes. Sheila attended Lancaster Schools. On October 2, 1965, Sheila was united in marriage to Gary S. Buss. After their marriage, Gary was employed at Dubuque John Deere Works and Sheila raised their four children, Lee, Eric, Amy, and Dean. She enjoyed reading, cooking, and baking. Sheila was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her children: Lee (Shellie) Buss; Eric (Aggie) Buss; Amy (Joe) Lenz; Dean (Missy) Buss; her mother, Dorothy Schwantes; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Ruth Schwantes; Darlene Buss; Sandy Carns; Gloria Pauly; brother-in-law: David (Diane) Buss; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her father, Mark, and her husband, Gary, Sheila was preceded in death by her brother, Garnett Schwantes; brothers-in-law: Buzzy Buss, Jim Pauly, and Ted Carns.
Private family funeral services will be held at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster with Reverend Pamela Strakeljahn officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
