BLOOMINGTON-Sharon Louise Davis, age 74, of Bloomington, WI was called to her heavenly home on September 5, 2022, with her loving family at her side. She was born on January 28, 1948, in Quincy, IL the only daughter of George and Mary (Kuse) Miller. Sharon grew up in Quincy where she attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and Notre Dame High School. She graduated from Quincy College with a BS degree in medical technology.
Sharon was united in marriage to Jeffrey A. “Doc” Davis on June 14, 1969, at St Boniface Church in Quincy. They shared 53 years of marriage and together they raised three daughters, Jody, Jenny, and Jessica. She was an amazing stay at home mom to her daughters while at the same time helping her husband with his veterinary practice. She most enjoyed playing tennis, canning, and visiting her grandchildren.
Even though she was soft spoken and shied away from the limelight, she served joyfully in four beautiful ministries: served as President of Wisconsin Grant County Right to Life, directed Religious Ed, helped engaged couples through Marriage Prep courses, and presented talks on TEC and CEW retreats. The ultimate goal of all her ministries was to help others build a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. On the retreats, her favorite quote is attributed to Mother Teresa “I thirst” and it’s only fitting that GOD called both of them to His warm embrace on the same day (September 5).
Sharon was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bloomington. She was a devoted woman of God and involved in many church activities. She will be remembered for her deep faith in God, the joy she brought to a room, and her smiling personality. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Jeff; her children: Jody (Adam) Gates, Jenny (Allen) Richardson, and Jessica (Dominick) Meyer; seven grandchildren, Reece, Ian, and Ella Gates, Drew and Eli Richardson, and Oliver and Theodore Meyer; a sister-in-law, Chris (Jim Weaver) McIntire; two brothers-in-law: Chuck (Sue) Davis and Rick (Claudia) Davis; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Miller and her father and mother-in-law Byron and Barbara Davis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Sharon on Friday, September 9, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bloomington with Fr. Gregory Ihm officiating.
