Sandra A. "Sandy" Noble, age 72, of Lancaster, passed away Friday, July 3, 2015, at Atrium Post Acute Care in Lancaster. She was born on November 14, 1942, the daughter of Claude and Doris (Knapp) Schmieder. Sandy graduated from Dubuque Wahlert High School with the first graduating class in 1960. On October 12, 1963, she married Willard J. "Bill" Noble at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster. Sandy was employed with William C. Brown Publishing and later at John Deere Dubuque Tractor Works. In her retirement, she was employed with Swiss Colony in Dickeyville. Sandy was a member of St Clement Catholic Church and enjoyed spending time with her friends playing cards, gambling, and having a good time. She loved keeping up with her children and grandchildren and their activities.
Survivors include her daughter, Kimberly (Fred) Mitchell and their son, Cameron; her sons: Timothy (Susan) and their daughters, Kendra, Carly, and Cassidy; and Michael (Rhonda) and their children, Sarah, Samuel, and Nicolas; her siblings: Steve (Anne); Mike (Peg); Joe Schmieder; Mary (Will) Bonneau; Dan Schmieder; Kathy (Mike) Pueppke; Nancy (Bob) Stanley; nieces, nephews, and many members of the Noble family.
In addition to her husband, Bill, Sandy was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 9, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Reverend John Sasse officiating. Burial was in St. Clement Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends called on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.at St. Clement Catholic Church and from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church Thursday morning. Schwartz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lancaster is assisting the family. In Lieu of plants and flowers, a Sandy Noble Memorial Fund has been established.
