Ruth M. Klinkhammer, age 86, of Prairie du Chien, died on Thursday, January 10, 2013, at Grant Regional Health Center, Lancaster. She was born on November 28, 1926, in Bagley, the daughter of Benjamin and Dora (Ariss) Quick. Ruth graduated from Bloomington High School in 1944. On June 9, 1946, she was united in marriage to Jesse Klinkhammer. After their marriage the couple farmed in Mount Hope Township. Ruth was a member of St. Lawrence OToole Catholic Church, Royal Neighbors, and Wisconsin Women for Agriculture. She enjoyed crafting, knitting, sewing and quilting.
Survivors include her children: Michael (Karen) Klinkhammer, Paul (Connie) Klinkhammer, Mary (Eugene) Sawvell; grandchildren: Michael Klinkhammer, Stacey (Steven) Watson, Jason, Travis, and Amanda (fianc Andrew Weigel) Klinkhammer, Stacey Martin, Andy Lucas, and Jenni Kellogg; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; her brother, Charles Chuck (Catherine) Quick; sisters-in-law, Ivanelle and Anna Quick; her cat, Rasco; other relatives and many friends.
In addition to her parents, and her step-mother, Dove Quick, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, a granddaughter, Julie Konichek; brothers: Russell, Robert, and William; and step-sister, Janice Ariss.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Lawrence OToole Catholic Church in Mount Hope with Father Miguel Galvez officiating. Burial was in Union Nagle Cemetery, Patch Grove Township. Family and friends called Monday, January 14, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Bloomington and on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church.
