Ruth I. Percival, age 91, of Lancaster, formerly of Potosi, died Thursday, March 13, 2008 at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. She was born on August 26, 1916 in Bismarck, North Dakota, the daughter of Ralph and Matilda (Envick) Turner. On November 10, 1936, she married Delbert C. Percival at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tennyson. Together they owned and operated the Greenhouse Tavern in Kieler, and later the Roadhouse Tavern in Tennyson, until retiring in 1979. She loved to go shopping and tend to her flower garden. Her greatest joy was her two grandchildren.
Ruth is survived by her son, Larry (Katrina) Percival, Potosi; two grandchildren: Eric Percival (Leah Pronschinske) and Kelly Percival, both of Potosi; one brother, Leonard (Faye) Turner, Scio, Oregon.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a twin brother in infancy.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tennyson with Father Richard Leffler officiating. Burial was in Van Buren Cemetery, Potosi Township. Visitation was held on Friday, March 14, 2008 from 4:00 7:30 p.m. at the Martin Funeral Home in Potosi, and after 9:30 a.m. Saturday morning at the funeral home.
