Ruth E. Krohn, age 82, of Bloomington, died on Saturday, October 13, 2012, at the Lancaster Care Center. She was born on August 24, 1930, in Little Grant Township, the daughter of Ellsworth and Elva (Bishell) Landon. Ruth graduated from Lancaster High School in 1948. On February 20, 1950, she was united in marriage to Gerald Krohn at the Lancaster United Methodist Parsonage. After their marriage, the couple traveled while Gerald served his country in the United States Army. Following Geralds honorable discharge, the couple returned to Beetown where they farmed and together raised three daughters.
Survivors include her loving husband, Gerald; their three daughters: Vickie Krohn; Kathy (Rod) Schramm, all of Lancaster; Shari (Todd) Hammen, Combined Locks; three grandchildren: Shelby Schramm, Trevor and Troy Hammen; her brothers and sisters: Maurice Landon; Irene (John) Seippel; Phyllis (Gene) Klaas, all of Lancaster; Leo (Clara) Landon, Cassville; Cecil (Janice) Landon, Lancaster; her sister-in-law, Ruby Landon, Lancaster; other loving relatives and many friends.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by a brother, Virgil Landon and a sister-in-law, Charlotte Landon.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Lancaster with Reverend David Froemming officiating. Burial was in Dodge Cemetery, Beetown Township. Family and friends called on Tuesday, October 16, 2012, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
