Ruby Marcue

Ruby E. Marcue, age 77, of Lancaster, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. She was born on October 14, 1938, in Lancaster, the daughter of William Jess and Ruby Bernice (Webster) Whitham. Ruby graduated from Bloomington High School in 1957. On February 4, 1960, she was united in marriage to Cletus Marcue and the Congregational Church in Platteville. After their marriage, Ruby raised their five children. She was employed at Grant Regional Health Center, formerly known as Lancaster Memorial, as a dietician in 1977 until her retirement in 2004. Ruby enjoyed baking, cooking, puzzles, crafts and preparing for family holiday celebrations. She dearly loved spending time with her family and keeping up with their activities.

Survivors include her children: Joey Marcue, Lancaster; Darla Waldron, Madison; Ronald (Jamie) Marcue, Lancaster; Cheryl (Tim Beyer) Marcue, Mt. Horeb; Vicki (Alan Hore) Marcue, Lancaster; nine grandchildren: Alyssa Waldron, Amber (Dustin) Meisel, Breanna Waldron, Ella, Heidi, and Bailey Marcue, Drew and Hillary Richardson, and Victoria Hore; three great-grandchildren: Ruby and Kylee Meisel and Quinton Duve; two sisters: Shirley Johnson, Beaver Dam; Carol Witzig, Platteville; other relatives and many friends.

In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Cletus on June 10, 1990.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lancaster with Pastor Mark Hoehne officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends called on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
