Rosemary J. Wiest

Rosemary J. Wiest, age 94, of Cassville, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on August 17, 1929, in Bloomington, the daughter of John and Mary (Crubel) Weber.  Rosemary graduated from Bloomington High School in 1947.  On August 23, 1949, she was united in marriage to Maurice G. Wiest.  Together they farmed in the Cassville area.  Rosemary was a devoted member of St. Charles Catholic Church.  She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and knitting.  Upon retirement and moving to Cassville, Rosemary volunteered at Stonefield.  She dearly loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Survivors include her children: Sharon (Douglas) Richmond, Debra (Ron) Walker, Lawrence (Pam Mergen), Daniel (Linda) Wiest, Sandra (Robert) Kress; a son-in-law, Walter “Wally” Kellnhofer; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Maurice on May 1, 1983, Rosemary was preceded in death by an infant brother, Joseph; a daughter, Kathleen Kellnhofer; and a grandson, Jeremy Wiest.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville with Father Sudhakar Devarapu officiating.  Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery, Cassville.  Family and friends may call on Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.  Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Cassville is assisting the family.
