Rosemary M. Dresen

Rosemary M. Dresen, age 95, of Cassville, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021, at the Lancaster Health Services, Lancaster. She was born on August 31, 1925, in Lancaster, the daughter of Lawrence and Ila (Eckstein) Bernhardt. Rosemary attended St. Charles Catholic School in Cassville. On May 1, 1954, she was united in marriage to Gerald Dresen at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville. After their marriage, the couple farmed Rosemary's brother's farm. She enjoyed planting flowers, baking, fishing, bright colors, and her whiskey. Rosemary was a member of the Red Hatter's in Prairie du Chien. She dearly loved spending time with her daughter and grandson. Rosemary got her first tattoo at age eighty and her second at age eighty-two. She loved to be happy and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her children: Jim Dresen, Platteville; Jean Howard, La Crosse; Margie Green, Cassville; her grandson, Adam Green, Cassville; a sister-in-law, Jane Bernhardt, Cassville; other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Gerald, Rosemary was preceded in death by her sons, Tom and Dick Dresen; a son-in-law, Darrell Green; her brothers: Jim (Julie), Bernard, and John (Phyllis) Bernhardt.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 4, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville with Father John Meinholz officiating. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery, Cassville. Family and friends may call on Friday at 10:00 a.m. for a parish rosary until time of services at the church. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Cassville is entrusted with her care.
