LANCASTER – Ronald B. Thole, age 82, of Lancaster, Wisconsin, passed away on June 12, 2023, at Divine Health and Rehabilitation surrounded by his family. He was born on August 25, 1940, in Glen Haven, Wisconsin, the son of Raymond and Dorothy (Walz) Thole. He graduated from Bloomington High School in 1958. After graduating, Ron served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. Ron was a jack of all trades. From woodworking to old cars, to hunting, he did it all.  He was instrumental in establishing the West Grant Rescue Squad, maintained a cable tv service for Glen Haven while also operating a portable feed mill for local farmers.  During his career as a cross country truck driver for Schneider, he safely traveled two million miles.  Ron was united in marriage to Sue Winkler in 1990.

Survivors include his wife Sue Thole; the mother of his children Mary Jane Thole; his children: Mike (Kristina) Thole, Donna (Randy) Vike, and Deb (Steve) Eddy; siblings: Sister Margie Thole, Danny (Sue) Thole; Mary Lou (Ken) Kleist, and Steve (Marla) Thole; stepchildren: Kari (Scott) Krohn, Kurt Kruser and Kelly (Joan) Kruser; in laws: Barb (Ken) Thompson, Mike Winkler, Dan Winkler (Danelle Blush), Em (Dave) Pitzen, and Vince Winkler; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, great-nieces, nephews, family and friends. 

In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by two sons Tim and Tom.  

In accordance with Ron’s wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held for immediate family and close friends at a later date.  Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster is assisting the family.
