Roger P. Osterhaus, 85, of Bloomington, WI went home to our Lord on April 11, 2014. He was born March 16, 1929 to Joseph and Rose (Wegmann) Osterhaus.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Phyllis (Vopelak); son Daniel (Linda) Osterhaus of Bloomington; daughter Kathleen (John) Slipek of Abbotsford; daughter Victoria (Jeffrey) Crubel of Bloomington; son James Osterhaus of Alburqueque, NM; and daughter Mary Jane Osterhaus (David Abbott) of Wisconsin Rapids.

Roger took great joy in all his grandchildren: RJ Osterhaus, Danny Jo (Osterhaus) Dill, Matthew Osterhaus, Dominic Osterhaus, Isaac Slipek, Benjamin Slipek, Noelle Slipek, Stephanie (Crubel) Zeeh, Molly (Crubel) Winkers, Kirby Crubel, Clinton Crubel, Libby Rose Strub, Emma Strub and Hannah Strub. Welcoming him in heaven his granddaughter Danielle Osterhaus. He is also survived by his 8 great-grandchildren who loved their Papa Roger.

Also surviving are brothers Paul (Charlene) Osterhaus, Carl (Linda) Osterhaus, Donald (Mary) Osterhaus and Joseph (Leona) Osterhaus and brother-in-law William Christianson. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, beloved sister Myrtle Christianson, and by an infant brother.

Roger had a long career in farm implement sales and service. He was co-owner and operator of Farmers Implement Company of Bloomington. Though his career was in the implement dealership, his true love, besides his family, was farming. He continued to enjoy farming after his retirement until a couple of years ago. He was a member of the Board of Directors for Peoples State Bank for over 25 years. Roger was also a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 50 years.

Roger will always be remembered by his family for his example of unconditional love.

Funeral services were held on Monday, April 14, 2014, at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. John Meinholz officiating. Burial followed at Bloomington Cemetery. Private visitation was held for family only. All are welcome to gather before the funeral service in church at 10:30 for the praying of the rosary. Martin Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Bloomington is assisting the family.
