Roger D. "Fuzzy" Kartman, age 78, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at home on March 22, 2016, in Cassville, due to complications after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Roger was born on December 23, 1937, in Cassville, the son of Donald and Camilla (Leibfried) Kartman. He graduated from Cassville High School in 1956. He married Donna M. Niemer on June 16, 1959, at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster. Roger worked at John Deere Dubuque Tractor Works for 30 years, retiring in 1995. Roger was a 3rd Degree Honorary Life Member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Charles Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing softball, baseball, bowling, hunting, fishing, 4-H, and playing cards with friends.

Roger is survived by his loving wife, Donna, their children: Deborah (Ken) Metcalf, Kim (Trevor) Kubatzke, Susan (Dennis Leffel) Kartman, Sandra (Mark) Wood, Jennifer (Greg) Van Natta, James (Nicole) Kartman, and Angela (Jeff) Stauffacher, 17 grandchildren: Ashley (Spencer), Andrea (Brian), Ali, Megan, Dustin, Tyler, Haley, Nic, Brooklyn, Jackson, Ivy, Ian, Adi, Atticus, Austia, Alex, Ayla, and one great-grandchild, Kelsie, a sister, Dinah "Babe" (Le Roy) Wilkinson, a sister-in-law, Ruth Kartman, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Larry and Richard Kartman.

Funeral services were held on Friday, March 25, 2016, at 9:00 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville with Father John Meinholz, Father William Seipp and Father John Norder officiating. Burial was in St. Charles Cemetery, Cassville. Family and friends called on Thursday, March 24, 2016, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cassville, where a Knights of Columbus rosary was prayed at 2:45 p.m. Family and friends also called on Friday, March 25, 216, from 8:00 a.m. until 8:45 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Roger D. Kartman Memorial Fund has been established.
