Robin I. Cooley-Place, age 52, of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2011, at her home. She was born on June 13, 1959, in Darlington, the daughter of Duane and Patricia (Lange) Bloom. Robin graduated from Platteville High School in 1977. She married Kevin Cooley in Lancaster. After their marriage the couple farmed in rural Lancaster. On August 6, 2011, Robin was united in marriage to David Place in Lancaster. She enjoyed camping, reading, playing cards, outdoor country concerts and collecting pigs. Robin dearly loved spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
Survivors include her husband, David Place, Lancaster; her children: Roger Cooley, Lancaster; Michelle (Jeremy) Becwar, Patch Grove; Kimberly Cooley, Green Bay; Kari (Marques) Hicks, Monticello; Corey Place, Belmont; eight grandchildren: Morgan Becwar, Kadance Cooley, Spencer Cooley, Drew Becwar, Gavyn Cooley, Hailey Becwar, Owen Hicks and Berlin Hicks; her siblings: Bonnie Bloom and Kathy Esser, both of Lancaster; Rick Bloom, Platteville; Bobby (Jane) Bloom, Bagley; Sherry Chandler, Platteville; other relatives and many friends.
Robin was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 22, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at the Lancaster United Methodist Church with Pastor Barbara Cook officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Platteville. Family and friends called on Friday, October 21, 2011, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Lancaster United Methodist Church and on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster is assisting the family.
