Robert W. Bohringer, age 82 of Cassville, WI, passed away Friday, September 18, 2020 at his residence. He was born March 24, 1938, the son of Kenneth and Dorothy (Welsh) Bohringer in Little Grant Township. Bob attended country schools, and graduated Lancaster High School in 1955. On September 26, 1959 he was united in marriage to Rose A. Ward. Bob was employed at John Deere Dubuque Tractor Works for 30 years, retiring in 1989. He was also a commercial fisherman for many years. Bob taught hunter safety for 30 years. Trapshooting was an important part of his life. Bob was a director for the Wisconsin Trapshooting Association and was inducted to Wisconsin Hall of Fame for Trapshooting in 2000. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing, which was a big part of his life. Bob dearly loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving is his loving wife, Rose; their children: Ronda (Jeff) Lenz, Rachel, Richard (Mary), and Roger (Penny) Bohringer; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Keith (Barb) Bohringer; four brothers-in-law: David Knoke, Vern (Phyllis) and Chester Ward, and Kenneth Junk; five sisters-in-law: Jeanette Ward, Sharon (Harold) Wolter, Denise Robinette, Debra Perkins, and Julia Holman, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his daughter, Roberta (Jake) Muntz; a sister, Ruth Knoke; a grandson, Bill Muntz; a niece, Kris Keene; a nephew, Steve Wolter; and three sisters-in-law: Lois Junk, and Mary and Raelene Ward; and a brother-in-law, Jerry Robinette.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville with Father John Meinholz officiating. Private family burial will be in the Little Grant Cemetery, Little Grant Township. Family and friends may call on Saturday, September 26, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. Due to COVID-19, social distancing will be observed, and masks are requested during the funeral mass at church. The Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Cassville is assisting the family.
