Robert L. “Bob” Miller, age 72, of Potosi passed away on Sunday September 8, 2024, at his home. He was born on November 7, 1951, the son of Laurice and LaVonne (Hampton) Miller. Bob graduated from West Grant High School in 1969. He worked at Dick’s Texaco Station and Turner Motors in Lancaster. Bob then enlisted in the United States Army, attending boot camp at Fort Campbell, KY in 1971. He served as a Military Policeman stationed at the US Forces Confinement Facility Mannheim in Frankfort, Germany. Robert was united in marriage to Peggy J. Keene on September 25,1976, and they resided in Lancaster. Bob worked for 30 years at John Deere Dubuque Works as a Security Guard, retiring in 2007. After retirement from John Deere, he then worked part time mowing grass at the Lancaster Country Club for a few years and as a delivery driver at IWI Motor parts in Lancaster before fully retiring in 2020 and moving to Potosi. Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing in his early years, then bowling, playing cards and golfing through the later years. He took up golf to spend time with his daughter, Stephanie. Bob also enjoyed cooking supper on Friday nights at work with his John Deere buddies, which continued for a while even after his retirement.

 Bob is survived by his wife Peggy of nearly 48 years; daughter Stephanie Miller of Lancaster; grand puppies Sadie and Jasper; brothers: Randy (Caroline) of Laveen, AZ, Marty (Christine) of Houston, TX; brothers-in-law: Richard “Dick” Keene and Patrick Adams; sisters-in-law: Carol (Jack) Hayes, Sheila (Rick Wedig) Keene; many nieces and nephews.

 Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Laurice and LaVonne Miller and his father and mother-in-law, Richard and Marlene Keene, as well as sisters-in-law: Kristine Keene and Nancy Adams.

 In keeping with Bob’s wishes, there will be no formal services. Private family burial will be at a later date. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster is assisting the family.
