Robert W. Lees, age 82, of Bagley, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2015, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse. He was born on January 20, 1933, in Racine, the son of Wesley and Vivian (Barr) Lees. Robert attended Horlick High School and St. Catherine's High School in Racine. He entered the United States Army and served his country during the Korean Conflict until his honorable discharge. On April 11, 1959, Robert was united in marriage to Jane St. Amour at St. Rose Catholic Church in Racine. After their marriage, Robert was employed as a bricklayer throughout Racine. The couple moved to Bagley in June of 1990 after retirement. Robert was a member of the Liscum Brothers American Legion Post No. 482 of Bagley and the Royal Neighbors. He enjoyed woodworking, bird watching and playing pool.
Survivors include his loving wife, Jane; ten children: Leslie (Dave) Wentzell; Pamela Cruzen; Felicia (John) Murphy; Robert (Evie) Lees; William (Susan) Lees; Nancy (Al) Pederson; Sara (Rich) Stanton; John (Kim) Lees; Matthew (Alma) Lees; Anne (Gene) Hewlett; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Tom (Deb) Lees; other relatives and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his brothers, Jerry (Winnie) and Mike Lees and a sister, Jackie Czernik.
Funeral services were held on Monday, April 27, 2015, at 12:00 noon at Martin Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Bloomington with Reverend Pamela Strakeljahn officiating. Burial with military honors was in the Bagley Cemetery, Bagley. Family and friends called on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
