Moulton

Robert R. "Bob" Ketchum, age 59, of Moulton, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2015, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born on December 30, 1955, in Kenosha, the son of Roland M. "Hermie" and Rosemary (Martin) Ketchum. He attended school in Bloomington and Platteville and graduated from Platteville High School in 1974. Upon graduation, Robert entered the United States National Guard and served his country until his honorable discharge in 1977. In 1980 he joined the Boilermakers of local 107 in Milwaukee where he was a welder for 35 years. Robert enjoyed nothing more than time with his children, grandchildren, family, friends, and his dog, Blondie. When he retired, he threw out his watch and calendar and spent all his days doing only the things he enjoyed: traveling to his grandchildren's games, golfing, hunting, and fishing. Robert brought laughter to every person he crossed paths with and was a true blessing to every life he touched.

Survivors include his children: Dan (Susy) Ketchum, Mt, Vernon, IA; Amy (Keith) Clark, Platteville; his grandchildren: Courtney, Colton, Mackenzie, and Brady; his very special friend and long-time companion, Betty Donaldson; his mother, Rosemary Ketchum, Glen Haven; his brothers and sisters: Sue Johll, Glen Haven; Lynn Sollien, Mabel, MN; Edward (Elham) Ketchum, Bradenton, FL; Sherry (Don) Ingvalson, Caledonia, MN; Thomas Ketchum, Lancaster; nieces, nephews, other relatives and an uncountable number of friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Roland on September 12, 2006, and his brother, William on September 1, 2008.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, June 26, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Glen Haven with Father John Meinholz officiating. Burial with military honors was in Gockel Cemetery, Glen Haven Township.
