Robert J. Richardson

 Robert J. "Bob" Richardson, age 62, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Unity Point - Finley Hospital in Dubuque. He was born June 19, 1951, the son of Edmond and Vera (Kitto) Richardson. Bob graduated Potosi High School in 1969, and furthered his education with a degree from University of Wisconsin Platteville in 1974. He married Lila J. Chambers on July 24, 1976. Bob taught and coached at Potosi High School. He later worked at Farmland, FDL and Shullsburg Creamery.

Surviving is his wife Lila; a daughter, Kimberly (Steve Robinson) Cooley; two sons: Robert and James Richardson; three grandchildren: Kadance, Spencer and Gavyn Cooley; a brother, David (Mary) Richardson; a sister, Wendy Shaben; brothers-in-law: Glenn and Christopher Chambers; sisters-in-law: Roseann Sweeney and Rebecca Snow; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and his beloved dog, Wal ' E.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Edmond (Chris) and a sister Betty Lou Richardson, mother and father in law Glenn (Marilyn) Chambers, Sr., and a brother in law Doug Sweeney.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 6, 2013, at 10:30 am at Martin Funeral Home in Potosi with Pastor Petra Streiff officiating. Burial was in Van Buren Cemetery, Potosi Twn. Friends called on Friday, July 5, 2013 from 4 to 8 pm and on Saturday from 9:30 am until time of service at Martin Funeral Home in Potosi. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Robert J. Richardson memorial fund has been established.
