Rita M. Reinecke

Rita M. Reinecke, age 86, of Potosi passed away at home on Friday, October 12, 2018. She was born in Potosi township on November 14, 1931, the daughter of Clarence and Clara (Abing) Leibfried. Rita attended Potosi grade school and graduated from Potosi High School before continuing her education at St. Mary’s Nursing School in Madison. She worked as a Grant County Nurse and taught at Southwest Wisconsin Technical College in Fennimore. Rita was also a nurse for the Red Cross and volunteered as a Hospice nurse after her retirement. In her free time, Rita enjoyed dancing, cross country skiing, biking, traveling, working out at the health club, music, and especially spending time with her grandkids.

Rita is survived by her very special friend, Don Vial; five sons: Dave (Kim), Mark (Tammy), Mike (Laura), Tim (Rhonda), and Tom (Angie) Reinecke; two daughters: Beth (Mitch) Hochhausen, and Faye (Dan) Patzner; Twenty grandchildren: Nicole, Natolie, Nakila, Jason, Tyler, Jessica, Ryan, Chelsea, Alesia, Brendyn, Kara, Ashley, Danielle, Jared, Jacob, Manny, Hannah, Carli, Myles, and Alex; Eighteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Pat Friederick; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her son, Paul Reinecke; two brothers: Donald and Dennis (Delores) Leibfried; and a brother-in-law, Earl Friederick.

In keeping with Rita’s wishes, a private family service will take place at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tennyson at a later date with Father Richard Leffler officiating. The Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory of Potosi is entrusted with her services.
