Richard P. Bong

CASSVILLE – Richard P. Bong, age 28, of Cassville died on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, as a result of an automobile accident. He was born on April 22, 1989, in Darlington, the son of Marvin C. and Teri L. (Stading) Bong. Richard graduated from Shullsburg High School in 2008. He worked various jobs, but truly enjoyed farming. On July 14, 2012, Richard was united in marriage to Ashley Holmes. He was an avid outdoorsman, especially fishing and hunting. Richard enjoyed working on cars with his father, art, and tattooing. He truly enjoyed helping people and spending time with his family and his children. Richard will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Ashley and their children, Jaylinn and Liam; his parents: Teri (Greg) Gengler and Marvin Bong; his maternal grandmother, Irene Stading; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Paul Stading and his paternal grandparents, Norbert and Margaret Bong, Sr.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory, 1234 S Madison Street, Lancaster, with Rev. Peter Horvath officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
