Richard A. Dick Umhoefer, Jr., age 74, of Bagley, formerly of Menomonee Falls, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2011, at his residence. He was born on August 9, 1937, the son of Richard A. and Irene (Schwister) Umhoefer, Sr. On July 6, 1968, he was united in marriage to Kathryn Breese at St. Clement Catholic Church. Dick worked as self employed truck driver for many years working with Skyline Homes in Lancaster. He served in the US Military during the Korean Conflict. Dick enjoyed fishing, gardening, driving his tractor and being surrounded by his good friends. Dick was loved by all.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Kathryn; his son, Jeff (Debbie) Umhoefer and granddaughters, Lindsey and Jamie; his mother, Irene; brothers and sisters: Joni (Arleigh) Dashner, Erv, Donna Lohmann, Janet (Mike) LaGrasse, Kathy Gardner, Tom (Cheryl), sister and brothers-in-law: Laurie Ocepek, Joan Wenzel and Guy Greenwald; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, Dick was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Stan, Riann Greenwald, John, Jimmy, and his twin sister, Rita; and brother-in-law, John Lohmann.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, November 2, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Father William Seipp officiating. Burial with military honors was in Bagley Cemetery, Bagley. Family and friends called on Tuesday, November 1, 2011, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Bloomington and on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until time of services at St. Clement Catholic Church.
