Randy R. Dailey, age 70, of Lancaster, WI, passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison. He was born March 6, 1948 in Platteville, WI, the son of Addison and Bessie (Luher) Dailey. Randy attended Platteville High School, and later married Shirley Oakes on July 9, 1972. In July 1974, Randy enlisted in the United States Army, where he served until his retirement in 1990. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, listening to country music, and playing cards – especially poker.
Randy is survived by his wife, Shirley; a daughter, Rebecca (Gordon) Cunningham; four grandchildren: Kierre McLaughlin, Connor McLaughlin, Adian Wood, and Grant Caley; eleven siblings: Washy (Karen) Dailey, Donnie (Mary) Dailey, Marsha Harrington, Diane Welch, Bev Jacobus, Gloria (Dave) Johnson, Chris (Stan) Farrey, Jack (Lynn) Dailey, Tammy (Dave) Antoniewicz, Alisa (Rick) Iverson, and Todd Dailey, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by two sisters: Jeanette Dalen, and Janet Sherif.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 23, 2018 at the Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster with Pastor Mark Hoehne officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Visitation will be Friday, March 23, 2018 at the Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of plants and flowers a Randy R. Dailey Memorial Fund has been established. The Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster is entrusted with his services.
