Ramona Mary Adams, age 79, of Platteville, WI was called home peacefully on Sunday,February 28, 2016, at Manor Care surrounded by her loving family. Ramona was born onJune 22, 1936, in Grant County Wisconsin, the daughter of Louis and Ruth (Ball) Adams.
Ramona was passionate about family history and documented 8 generations of the Adams and Ball families tracing back to Germany and England. She also enjoyed antiques and the history of farming and Grant County. Ramona worked for many years on the family farm and was the caretaker for her parents.
Ramona enjoyed making puzzles and playing cards with family and friends. She also volunteered for many years at the Rollo Jamison Museum. Ramona was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Platteville, WI where she devoted many hours to making quilts.
Those left to cherish Ramona's memory include sisters, Lorraine Knapp of Hillpoint, WI, Carolee (Don) Birschbach of Janesville, WI, Linda (Dave) Bockhop of Belmont, WI; Brothers, Jerry (Ann) of Cuba City, Steve (Rossana) of Arvada, CO, and Jeff (Deb) of Belmont; Sister-in-law Darlene Adams of Stockton, IL; many nieces and nephews and close friend Barb Schuster.
She was preceded in death by her parents; oldest brother Stanley John; oldest sister Evelyn Mechanic; brother Merlyn; and brother-in-laws Marvin Mechanic and Robert Knapp.
To honor Ramona's life,A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday,March 5, 2016, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Platteville with Fr. Faustino Ruiz celebrating theMass. Burial was in St. Clement Cemetery, Lancaster. Friends called from 9:30 a.m. until the time of servicesSaturdayat the church. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Platteville is assisting the family.
