 Phillip J. Rice, age 55, of Lancaster, left to be with the Lord on Friday, November 15, 2013, at his home, surrounded by his family. Phil was born on June 1, 1958 in Lancaster, a son of Claudie & Eileen (Moore) Rice. Phil attended Lancaster High School, where he was on the football and wrestling teams. He graduated in 1976. Phil married Gloria Morgan on November 9, 1996 at Calvary Community Church in Lancaster. He worked at Lands End in Dodgeville, where he was employed for 25 years.

Phil enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and watching sports, especially Flying Arrow Wrestling and Football.

Phil is survived by his wife, Gloria Rice of Lancaster; his mother, Eileen Rice of Lancaster; three sons, Joesph, Matthew, and Timothy (Jenny) Rice, all of Lancaster; two step-children, Jason Kenney of Ohio, and Jamie (Shane) Dreyfus of Florida; five siblings, Claudette (Doug) Bendorf of Lancaster, Michael Mick Rice of Lancaster, Mary Lou (Dave Oyen) Gallinger of Lancaster, Jim (Nate Spielman) Rice of Milwaukee, and Dan Rice of Lancaster; seven grandchildren, Logan Rice, Elexis Rice, Koby Rice, Jayda Rice, Bree Rice, Mya Rice, and Halo Dreyfus; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives & friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Claudie; and his grandparents.

Funeral Services were held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2013, at Calvary Community Church in Lancaster, with Rev. James Alexander officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Friends called from 5 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster, and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.

In lieu of plants and flowers, a Phillip J. Rice Memorial Fund has been established.
