Peggy S. Morse

Peggy S. Morse, age 91, of Lancaster, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2013, at Grant Regional Health Center, Lancaster. She was born on December 27, 1921, in Youngstown, Ohio, to Frederick Donald and Hope Schreiber. Peggy married Edward Morse, Jr. in Madison in 1943 and followed him to San Francisco where she lived and worked while he was at sea. Peggy moved with Eddie back to Lancaster after the war. She raised two children, Daniel and Martha. Her passions through out her life were gardening, playing bridge, fishing Grant County trout streams and, of course, her beloved Girl Scouts. She was also a long time member of PEO. Peggy always had a smile on her face and will be missed by many members of this community.

Survivors include her two children: Daniel Morse and Martha (Kurt) Forget; her sister, Jean Prokopow; grandchildren: Jason and Crystal Morse; great-grandson Kane Morse; her close friend and sister-in-law, Marmie Morse Jackson; numerous nieces and nephews who often thought of her as their "other" mother.

Memorial services were held on Thursday, July 18, 2013, at 4:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lancaster. Private family burial was held in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends called on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home. In keeping with Peggy's wishes her Garden Club will be providing flowers for her service.
