Paul William Krogman, age 88, of Bloomington, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2018, at Atrium Post Acute Care in Lancaster, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 21, 1930, in Grant County, the son of Herman and Julia (Trumm) Krogman. Paul attended St. Mary's Catholic School and graduated from Bloomington High School. He furthered his education at the University of Wisconsin, Platteville. Paul returned home to help on the family farm. In 1950, he enlisted with the United States Air Force. Paul served his county until his honorable discharge in 1955. He returned to Grant County and was introduced to Nelda Zenz. On March 1, 1960, they were united in marriage at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bloomington. After their marriage, Paul farmed. In 1971, he owned Bloomington Produce until 1981 when Paul and his family moved to Wyoming. He owned and operated the Aviation General Agency and later managed a lawn care service. In 1999, Paul retired, and he and Nelda moved to Arizona. In 2004, they returned to Grant County. Paul was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bloomington and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, building and flying airplanes both full sized and radio controlled. Paul had a passion for aviation and dearly loved sharing that joy with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Nelda; their children: Helen (Dan) Ihasz, Fredonia, NY; David (Melissa) Krogman, Loma, CO; Mary (Clark) Brown, Kingman, AZ; six grandchildren: Brianne Ihasz; Chelsae Krogman; Elijah, Emily, Evelyn, and Elise Brown; his brother, Tom (Evie) Krogman, Bloomington; sister-in-law, Jean Krogman, Lancaster; other relatives and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his siblings: James (Mary) Krogman, Ernest Krogman, Norma (Carl) Andrews, and Father Philip Krogman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, October 1, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bloomington with Father John Meinholz officiating. Burial with military honors will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bloomington. Family and friends may call on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Bloomington is entrusted with his care.
