Patrick C. Chew, age 76, died on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, MN. He was born on December 20, 1935, in Allahabad, India, the son of Ulric and Violet (Williams) Chew. On December 27, 1956, Patrick was united in marriage to Nancy L. Okey at the United Methodist Church in Cassville. He was very creative, witty, and had a great sense of humor. Pat was an avid sportsman, who enjoyed golf, soccer, tennis, and bowling. He was proud to obtain citizenship in the United States, which he considered the greatest place to live in the world. How significant for P.C. to have peacefully passed away on Independence Day. Pat dearly loved his family and keeping up with their activities.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Chew; a daughter, Zyann (Andrew) Kinney; a son, Eric (Kim Koppes) Chew; three grandchildren: Crystal Chew, Kara and Rachel Kinney; one great-granddaughter, Zayda Zalaznik; one brother, Ernest (Jill) Chew; one sister, Jane Turner; other relatives and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Pat was preceded in death by his sisters: Rica (Eric) Knowles, Sylvia (Robert) Maydon, and Elizabeth Perry.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 7, 2012, at 11:30 a.m. at the Martin Funeral Home in Cassville with Reverend Mary Ann Floerke officiating. Burial was in Cassville Cemetery, Cassville. Family and friends called on Saturday, July 7, 2012, from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of plants and flowers a Patrick C. Chew memorial fund has been established.
