Patricia Schauff

Patricia J. Schauff, age 88, of Cassville, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. She was born on April 6, 1926, in Cassville, the daughter of Harvey and Gertrude Weber-Groom. On June 28, 1952, she married LeRoy Schauff of Cassville. Patricia Pat enjoyed traveling, fishing, playing cards, and was well-known for her decorated cakes and home-baked goodies; especially her long johns. Most of all, she adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Pat was a natural caregiver always putting others before herself.

Pat overcame numerous medical struggles by her inner strength and love for life.

She is survived by her five children: Phyllis (Gene) Adrian, Cassville, Michael (Darlene) Schauff, Cassville, Mary (Dan) Worsham, Moscow, Idaho; Ellen (Loren) Adrian, Cassville; and Eric (Janet) Schauff, Lancaster; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law: Norma Groom, Margaret Schauff, and Marie McCann, all of Cassville.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy; her grandson, Brian Adrian; and her brother, Lewis Groom.

Funeral services were held on Monday, May 5, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church, Cassville with Father John Meinholz officiating. Burial was in St. Marys Settlement Cemetery, Cassville Township. Family and friends called on Sunday, May 4, 2014 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Cassville and on Monday after 9:30 a.m. at the church.

In lieu of plants and flowers, a Patricia J. Schauff memorial fund has been established.
