Patricia J. Reuter

LANCASTER – Patricia J. Reuter, age 90, of Lancaster, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home in Lancaster. She was born on July 17, 1934, in Platteville, the daughter of Cyril and Hazel (Buss) Klar. Pat graduated from Platteville High School in 1952 and lived and worked in California until she met Myron Reuter. They were married on June 5, 1956, at St. Lawrence O’Toole Catholic Church in Mount Hope. Pat was very crafty. Her beautiful wreaths were seen on many doors of the residents at the Lancaster Care Center. Some people saw her wreaths and commissioned her to make wreaths for them. Pat also sold wreaths at craft shows. Pat and Myron visited the residents weekly at the Lancaster Care Center where they enjoyed listening to stories the residents told. They helped escort the residents to weekly mass. Pat and Myron attended weekly Vigil Hour at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fennimore for many years before they had to stop due to health reasons. Many times, the two of them could be seen distributing food at the Lancaster Food Pantry. Pat also sold Avon in and around the Lancaster area. She had a beautiful voice. Even with the onset of dementia, she would sing along to many songs on her CD player, always remembering the lyrics. One of Pat’s highlights was to travel with her sisters to see their brother in Italy and to visit family in Germany. She also enjoyed spending time with her sister in Florida. 

Survivors include her loving husband of 68 years, Myron; their children: Daniel (Jacqueline), Jeff (Kris), Tim (Mary), Lisa, and Chris (Diane) Reuter; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; her siblings: Judy Klar, JoAnne Marshall, Jim (Joyce) Klar; and members of the Reuter and Klar family.

In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her siblings: Marilyn (Klar) Klosterman, Norbert, Francis, and Dick Klar, Jeannie (Klar) Phalen and Bonnie (Klar) Iverson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 12:00 Noon at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Father Steve Brunner officiating. Burial will be in St. Clement Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends may call on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. A parish rosary will be prayed at 9:45 a.m. on Friday at St. Clement Catholic Church. In lieu of plants and flowers, the family suggests memorials be given in memory of Patricia to the Lancaster Food Pantry, Grant County Hospice, or a charity of your choice. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster is entrusted with her care.
