Patricia "Pat" Audetat

Patricia “Pat” Audetat, age 69, passed away on Tuesday, December 28 at her home in Cassville, WI. She was born August 10, 1952 in La Crosse, WI, the daughter of John and Margaret (McCabe) Davidson. Pat graduated from Cassville High School and attended nursing school, first to become an LPN at Mid-State Technical College in Stevens Point, WI and then to become an RN at Northeast Iowa Community College in Peosta, IA. She worked at Grant Regional Health Center from 1977 to 2014. Pat retired from the operating room, where she circulated, scrubbed, and cared for countless patients, many of whom reciprocated with thank you cards and heartful hugs at the grocery store.

Pat loved to read and play cards, especially Euchre, Cribbage, Nickle-Nickle, and Crew. You could find her on the golf course, cheering for the Pack and following NCAA hoops, especially the Badgers and Duke (beat UNC!). Her friends from the hospital and her family were her constant companions. “Aunt Pat” was her other vocation, and her nieces and nephews could always depend on her, whether it was helping them out of jams, getting them started with golf, or driving hours to cheer them on.

The brightest star in her sky was her seven-year-old grandson, Reid Pumphrey, who lives in Seattle, WA, with Pat’s daughter, Amy Audetat, and her partner, Graham Pumphrey. Pat frequently visited Reid, and they loved playing cards and watching Star Trek re-runs. They also shared a passion for wearing jammies all day.

In addition, Pat is survived by her two brothers, Mark (Kate) Davidson and Jim (Deb) Davidson, brother-in-law Carl Mergen, former husband Rick Audetat, and sister-in-law Julie Audetat, plus 10 nieces and nephews, 17 great-nieces and nephews, and 5 great-greats.

She is preceded in death by her parents, best friend and sister (Sue Davidson Mergen), brother (Michael J Davidson), and niece (Sara E Davidson).

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 3, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Cassville. Family and friends may call on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. A private burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you pour a good glass of red and cheer extra hard for the Badgers and the Devils (in that order) this season.
